The investigative drawings form a vital part of my practice, offering a space to explore rhythm, breath, and bodily gesture through repeated mark-making. These works operate between study and final piece, tracing the transformation of form as it moves through various material states. I work with textured surfaces—using graphite, charcoal, soft pastel —to create a sense of tension between presence and erosion. These tactile approaches reflect my wider interest in fragmentation, hybridity, and the dissolution of boundaries between self, surface, and environment.
